Please support the garden owners and attend as many meetings as possible.

Anybody who may be interested in opening in 2012, please let me know. It is becoming continually more difficult to find willing local gardeners.

Many thanks

Helen

Views and Letters.

Report on the Year 2009.

The year started early with a visit to Ashwood Nurseries. As you can imagine we came home with a coach full of hellebores and when we arrived back in Lincolnshire was met by six inches of snow which caused an eventful end to the day.

In March we went to see the hellebores in the most beautiful of gardens. This was at Reg and Madeliene's at Bigby.

April brought Harrogate Show as requested by a very lovely lady, Betty Grant. Thankyou Betty, you will be dearly missed within the group.

Mary Kerr s garden at Howsham was next on the list. I had never visited this garden and I promise you, if you get the opportunity it is a must. She also makes the most scrummy cakes!!

I think the visit of the year must have been to George Smith's at Heslington. The coach was soon booked up and we had a wonderful afternoon within a beautiful garden. There was also a talk and slides by George and we had the privilege of seeing his flower arrangements set within his home.

In June we went to Nettleton. A joint effort by Chris Bower and Norma and Alan Moor. If you want to see what the Brigg Group really get up to during the summer look at the photo's on the HPS website!!!

During July we visited Derek and Denise Targetts at Somerby. The rain kept off and the garden was looking as resplendent as ever with everything in full bloom.

An finally, but by no means least, we went to Claxby to Pat and David Spolton's. Tea and cake were again on the menu and a lovely relaxed afternoon was had by all.

Sadly we also lost another member of the group, Dorothy Robshaw. Dorothy was also a very keen member and very much liked.

On a happier note, the group is thriving and should anyone wish to join us just see me.

Thankyou everybody for a lovely summer.

We thought that you would perhaps like to see some photographs of the June open meeting, and the members, who you may know, enjoying themselves in their usual manner.
