Marigold Cottage Garden

Stephanie Lee

'Beauty, like happiness, occurs frequently. Not a day goes by in which we do not, for an instant, live in paradise.' Jorge Luis Borges

Essentially this is a seaside cottage garden, with secret paths and tiny lawns, plant-laden pergolas, and rare and tender plants growing alongside old favourites in brimming mixed borders. However, artefacts and ideas gathered from long sojourns in Asia have helped transform it into a place of great originality. New for 2009, a raised alpine area replaces one of the lawns, and a 1/3-acre blank canvas adjoining the garden, ripe for development! marigoldlee@btinternet.com
