10 a.m. 12 noon
Grand Plant Fair at William Farr C of E School, Welton.
The annual Welton plant sale is organised by the Lincolnshire Hardy Plant Society and takes place in the Welton school between 10am and 12. It provides a wide range of plants on sale by both individuals and many speciallist nurseries. The sale is open to the public and there will be refreshments available, as well as information upon other gardening events and the society itself, the whole forming a lively and friendly social occasion which should be enjoyed by all.
Those wishing to have plants entered for sale onto the main table manned by volunteer members of the group, must bring plants with two labels, one of which carries the name of the plant and one of which has the name of the seller plus the price of the plant, the second of these labels will be returned to you, and is required to enable the people working on the stall to total the value of the plants sold, and pay you the money owed to you; which will be less a percentage to cover the groups costs. The same procedure is followed on the plant stall at the monthly meetings of the group, and members are asked to remember not to forget the need for two labels. The plant staff on the stall also reserve the right to refuse to sell any plant they do not consider suitable.
Winter Plant Sales.
Plants sales are also held by the group at most of the winter lecture meetings, which is an added attraction for members and their guests. The terms and conditons for selling plants at the winter meetings are the same as those for selling at the annual sale above.
